After Care Instructions

It is as important to maintain your teeth after you have received treatment, however minor or major, if you are going to enjoy the benefits of long term oral health.

Throughout your time at A Smiling Place we will ensure that every possible step is taken to make you feel relaxed and at ease and before we see you leave our practice, we will make certain all of your questions and queries are answered and that we work together as a team to preserve your teeth.

We want to see you again and we will always encourage that you make your visits to us a regular occurrence, advising repeat checkups every six to twelve months.

Independent of the treatment and care that we take of your teeth we will encourage you to maintain a consistent and thorough hygiene routine which involves brushing at least twice daily with a fluoride toothpaste and using dental floss around your teeth and gums on a daily basis. In doing this, you not only prevent the build up of plaque and tartar around your teeth, but assist in preventing the development of gum disease, bad breath and decay.

We also encourage you to avoid smoking or chewing tobacco and, where you might engage in physical sports, we advise that you always wear the appropriate protective headgear and/or mouthguards where applicable.
